JT Thornton
John “JT” Thornton is an accomplished real estate operator and construction leader, blending a
CPA’s analytical expertise with hands-on experience in property management and value-add real
estate. JT has built a portfolio of multifamily assets that totals more than 1,200 units valued at
over $100 million.
JT’s unique approach to real estate stems from his ability to combine high-level strategy with
on-the-ground execution. From 2022 and 2024, he managed over $15 million in construction
projects, including the completion/delivery of over 100 units in 120 days, on two different
projects in Texas and Oklahoma.
As a co-founder of KOST Management, a property management company specializing in
value-add multifamily properties and CoVest Ventures, a syndication company focused on the
acquisition, operation, and disposition of multifamily assets, JT has built systems that stabilize
underperforming assets while improving tenant satisfaction and profitability. Under his
leadership, KOST currently manages 700+ units, and impacts an additional 500+ units with a
focus on aligning property operations with ownership goals.
Prior to his real estate ventures, JT spent seven years at PwC, where he worked on accounting
and consulting projects in various industries, including real estate. His B4 experience equipped
him with the skills to analyze complex financial landscapes and implement scalable solutions,
which he now applies to real estate operations.
With a deep understanding of construction, property management, and strategy, JT is
passionate about sharing his insights with both seasoned investors and “just getting started”
real estate entrants. His presentations offer actionable strategies for achieving operational
efficiency, optimizing property value, and navigating the challenges of today’s real estate market.
Greg Haselwander
Greg has been married to Amy for 31 years and is the father of five children: Nick, 30; Matthew, 29; Rachel, 27; John, 25; and Jenna, 23. He is an Eau Claire native who studied at Regis High School, St. Norbert College, and DeVry University – Keller Graduate School of Management.
Greg’s interest in real estate began at a young age as the son of a builder and real estate developer. Greg started growing his Real Estate portfolio in 1998 at age 31 and now has $50 million in assets under management. Some assets include owning and operating the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Eau Claire, WI, The Residence Inn by Marriott in Eau Claire, WI, and the Princeton Crossing commercial development in Eau Claire.

Mike Halloin
Michael leads Landmark Company’s internal underwriting for multifamily assets and oversees its affordable housing compliance program. While he primarily focuses on multifamily properties, particularly those involving federal housing programs, his experience spans a range of commercial asset classes.
Before joining Landmark, he worked in Milwaukee at a litigation firm focused on construction and suretyship matters.
Michael holds a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
